The Spanish had Florida as a colony. The Spanish wanted to take over South Carolina, a British colony. The Georgia colony, however, was a buffer colony for the English. The Spanish wanted south Carolina because it was very profitable, and had lots of successes in agriculture. The Spanish did eventually attack the GA British/highland Scot soldiers, but lost. Because of this loss, Spanish agreed to give up claims, and stop attacking, Georgia.
